Lucy and Lucy's Mum

Lucy and Lucy's Mum are separately available parts of the Instrumental Birthing Simulator Trainer.

Lucy - accurately mimics the average size and shape of the foetal head at birth.

The head is complete with articulating cranial plates and a scalp.

Lucy's Mum has a full pelvis, the joints of which are slightly loosened to simulate the movement in those joints during childbirth. The foetal head must travel around the Curve of Carras and its attitude and position can be changed to simulate changes in the attitude and position for birth requiring intervention.

The Instrumental Birth Simulator also allows for the practice of forceps deliveries as well as the practicing of vacuum extraction techniques.
